Sturgeon

About a week ago we went sturgeon fishing. We caught several really nice fish.

Steelhead Fishing

My dad, uncle Rick and I went steelhead fishing a couple weeks ago.



We stayed in some neat cabins.

Wreck

We decided to let Chris drive coming home from our fly fishing trip in Wyoming. Mistake. He rolled and totaled Tony's truck on I-80. I was in the back with Shaun. Chris and Tony were in front. Everyone keeps telling us how lucky we are nobody died. Yeah, but what about my gorgeous head? D-bags.


In the ambulance they cut the arms off my favorite fleece and fishing shirt. I wasn't too happy about that.
Chris also hit an elk doing about 45 mph last week at the Grand Canyon. We thought of a clever new name for Chris. It's A-hole.

Get some hobbies

There's an article in today Salt Lake Tribune about Utah leading the nation in online porn subscriptions. "Utah is Red State When it Comes to Porn". Some of the comments about this article are hilarious. Here's an example:

I'm disappointed in Utahans, Porn is free. Why pay for it? are we that stupid? Where are our fiscal conservative values? No wonder we are near the top in bankruptcies also, we pay for porn for heavens sakes, what kind of financial lunatic does that? It's appalling!

Taryl, Chris, Lukas, Shaun, and I went skeet shooting this weekend. Also, I shaved my head. It takes long to wash my face now.

President Bush named "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" as one of his favorite books. I'm paraphrasing, but he said that it helped shape him. Here's a description of the book from Wikipedia:

"The Very Hungry Caterpillar is a children's book written by Eric Carle, originally published in 1969. It is highly popular and has been praised for its use of easy-to-read words which makes it good for teaching young children to read. The book contains 225 words and large, colorful illustrations. It follows a caterpillar as it munches its way through a variety of edibles such as ice cream, salami, watermelon, one slice of Swiss cheese, and a lollipop before it finally pupates and emerges as a butterfly."

President Bush remembers reading this book over and over as a kid, but here's the problem, it was first published when he was 23! Haha! That's awesome! I wonder if someone read it to him?

Wedding Announcement

Here's Taryl and my wedding announcement. I know I forgot some people, so sorry if you didn't get one.

Brent, Rachel, Taryl, and I went to the Jazz-Blazers game last night. It was a great game! 4-0 without Deron. Not bad.

Taryl and I went to Metallica last night. "One" and "Master of Puppets" was awesome!


Let's just say it was loud. My ears are still ringing!

Fishing

The wife, Josh, and I went fishing the other night. We missed a bunch of fish but catch a couple nice ones.

Taryl must really love me, because she said I look good in this picture. I like that kind of bias.


I caught this fish about midnight. Good times.

I got married today. Her name's Taryl and she's not pregnant. I just really love her!

Bowling in Idaho Friday night. Good times.


I won a free game.

Stureon Fishing

Dad and I met Josh and his boys for some sturgeon fishing.


Isaac and I did quite a bit of fishing together. He reminds me a lot of Josh and myself when we were kids.


I'm fighting the first sturgeon I catch. It was about 7 feet and over 200lbs.


Here's the second sturgeon I caught. It pushed 8 feet and 300lbs. It's impossible to describe how big and strong these fish are. This one pulled our boat a few hundred yards from our anchor which we released to catch the fish. That's a full sized crappie in it's mouth that we used for bait.

I'm selling my bike.

Bugs

I felt something crawling around my helmet when I was riding my bike. Then a hornet came across the inside of my visor. I lifted my visor to blow it out, but it just blew back by my ear. I pulled over, got my helmet off, and somehow didn't get stung. What really pissed me off is that I wasted the "F" word on an insect. I need to save those for golf and Kobe Bryant.

Calvin

I love this picture! It looks like Calvin thinks he can walk on air. He's fearless.

This is the biggest deer I've ever seen!

Nikki's new house

Nikki's new house is awesome! It's really quiet and has a great yard. The girls really like it.

Timpanogos

I hiked Timpanogos this week. It was really gorgeous!

Water skiing

Chris, Lukas and I went water skiing tonight. I haven't skiing since my shoulder surgery so I was really rusty.

The water in Benson is filthy, but it sure is gorgeous!


This was Lukas's first time skiing so Chris was helping him out.


Chris calls this the "Scout Master". You know what, I don't judge.

Charlotte

I watched Charlotte and Calvin tonight. Charlotte was really cute! She's so mellow and easy to watch.

Fireworks!

We stopped to buy fireworks at an Indian reservation in Idaho. This sign was a fantastic piece of marketing. The Indian fireworks stand was named "Pow Wow". Brilliant!

Golf tourney

Shaun, Robbie, Mark and I won our golf tourney last Saturday. Chris and his buddies got second. Dan and Jeremy's team was third. I should have taken more pictures, but this is all I have.

Our next tourney should be in two weeks.

Phone

S.O.S. - Chris dropped his phone in the water skiing tonight. Let me know if anyone has a spare one. He's with Sprint.

4th of July Outfit

I'm golfing with my dad in a golf tourney on the 4th. I thought I'd pick out a special outfit for him. He'll be so proud.

Babysitting

Calvin and I painted a table and chairs while I was babysitting him. Now I have little footprints and dog prints in my garage.

Nikki's Basement
